Yes, You Can Rock Facebook And Be A Good Friend

Spread the love

The past several days have been interesting in regards to Facebook. Several of my personal Facebook Friends have been sharing their annoyances and I thought I would share them with you. The really interesting thing, is the fact that they, themselves, are a big offender of what they are complaining about. So, I thought I would share information on how you can rock Facebook and still have friends.

Do Not Be A Chronic Complainer

Yes, I understand it has been a long, cold Winter and I too have complained. The middle of March is here, let’s move forward and forget about how cold it has been. Sure, I care that you are under the weather, end of statement. That’s where the status update ends. Take care of yourself and get better. This includes taking a break from Facebook. Look back at your last five status updates, were you a chronic complainer? If so, it’s time to re-think how you are using Facebook.

Are You Over Sharing?

Do you like to share a lot of things? Social Media is all about sharing, so you are in a good place. Now look back at your last five status updates, did you share a lot of things in the past hour? If so, it’s time to re-think how you are using Facebook and when you are sharing.

Privacy Is A Good Thing

There are some parts of our lives that are simply not Facebook worthy. It’s OK to not share every single minute of your life online.  Maybe your spouse has recently lost his/her job, and depending on the circumstances it may or may not be Facebook worthy. And if you are heading out to the grocery store, pharmacy, school;  and other places, it’s not necessary to share every single place you arrive throughout the day. Some people enjoy checking in on Four Square and if that’s your thing, but all means, indulge. Just remember, privacy is a good thing.

Facebook is a wonderful place to stay connected and share with other people. I can tell you this, that I no longer follow the pages of several of my friends that are chronic complainers, as I booted their status updates to the curb. I want to be a supportive Facebook friend and I want it to be in a positive environment. That’s the cool thing about Facebook, we can unfollow their page without unfriending them by clicking on the button right next to the friends icon.

So, tell me do you rock Facebook and are you a good friend? I have no doubt that all of you are rocking Facebook and are awesome friends! We all sometimes just need to take a look into if we are using Facebook the way we should be. It’s all about making connections and supporting one another through a status update or two, that’s what I love about Facebook!
